Hi Francine! Could you introduce yourself in 1 or 2 paragraphs?

Hi! I’m a freelance marketer, photographer, and videographer—very grateful to have turned the things I love most into a full-time job. I’m a big believer in following what excites you, so I say yes to anything that brings me energy, joy, and a chance to grow. I’m naturally curious, always learning, and constantly chasing new ways to tell stories through visuals.

One of those exciting projects is co-founding The Photographers Club with Bart-Jan. This amazing community for people who share a love for photography♥️. My perfect day? Getting lost in a city, camera in hand, surrounded by others who are just as passionate about capturing the world around them.

About me

Francine is a photographer and content creator specialized in street and city photography. Always seeking hidden gems and unique angles, she captures life with authenticity and energy, turning everyday moments into compelling visual stories.

How long have you been into photography and how did you get into it?

I only really got into photography seriously around August 2023. It started as a fun hobby, something I loved doing on the side. But one of the best things about being a freelancer is having the freedom to choose your own path, so I gradually started picking up more and more photography projects. Since then, things moved fast. I shoot a lot, both for clients and just for fun, which helped me level up my skills quickly.

When did you join The Photographers Club and do you remember your first time joining a photowalk?

I’m not exactly sure when I officially started joining The Photographers Club, it’s been a while, haha! I had been following Bart-Jan for some time and was always super inspired by his work. So when he started sharing on his IG stories about The Hague Photowalks, just casually inviting people to join him for early morning shoots, I was like, YES let’s gooo!

I remember those first walks being with small groups, usually at sunrise. Meeting up with strangers at 6am in the dunes? Absolutely, count me in ;). It turned out to be such a fun and welcoming experience, with really good vibes and passionate people. From there, I just kept joining more and more, and eventually partnered up with Bart-Jan to grow the community and launch The Photographers Club globally.

Can you tell us a bit about your own photography, what do you like to photograph and why?

I’ve always been drawn to the fast-paced energy of city life—the movement, the chaos, the constant change. That’s what makes city photography so exciting for me. There’s always something happening: different light, new faces, shifting moods. You could return to the same spot every day and walk away with a completely different photo each time.

What I love most is that you can’t control the moment, you have to feel it, wait for it, or be quick enough to catch it before it’s gone. It’s unpredictable in the best way. For me, photography is all about storytelling. Everyone sees and experiences a city differently, and it feels like a privilege to capture those fleeting, personal perspectives in such a dynamic environment. Especially in cities, where so many stories unfold at once.

But besides cities, I also really love photographing at the beach. I grew up living close to it, so it’s always had a special place in my heart. The light, the open space, the calm energy—there’s something magical about it, especially during sunrise and sunset. Summer mornings when the beach is still empty are my favorite: just you, the camera, and a golden sky. It’s a completely different rhythm from the city, but just as inspiring in its own way.

Please share 3 photos you made that you like and tell us a bit about them!

The pier - but different

I always try to capture familiar places in unique ways—and the Pier is no exception. It’s been photographed countless times, so I love challenging myself to look at it from a different angle or perspective. This shot was taken during one of my favorite moments of the day: sunset. The soft light, warm tones, and long shadows always create such a magical atmosphere. Whether it’s sunrise or sunset, that golden hour glow never fails to bring out something special in a scene.

The art of being alone

Taken from the Pier in Scheveningen, this photo captures a moment where a surfer embraces the beauty and simplicity of being alone. For me, it reflects on the idea that solitude doesn't always equate to loneliness. It was one of those unique moments that when I noticed it, I immediately wanted to capture it.

Iconic Rotterdam

I love exploring cities all around the world—each one has its own rhythm, energy, and hidden corners waiting to be discovered. This was one of those spontaneous city moments I’m so glad I managed to catch. I spotted the helicopter flying over just as I was taking in the view, quickly grabbed my camera, and snapped the shot. The timing couldn’t have been better.

The lines of the bridge, the layered architecture, the motion in the sky—it all came together to create that perfect urban vibe I love so much. Moments like these are why I always have my camera nearby.

What’s something you really like about being part of a photography community?

One of the things I love most about being part of a photography community is getting to share a passion with others. I’ve had so many amazing adventures already thanks to this group, from shooting stars in the middle of the night, to waking up early for sunrise sessions, to having a photo “walk” on a boat with cocktails. It’s honestly so cool what happens when you bring people together who are all excited about the same thing. I’m really happy (and super grateful) to have co-founded this community and to feel so much good energy coming from it.

On a creative level, it’s also been such a valuable space for learning. Everyone has their own style, their own way of seeing and capturing the world—and that’s so inspiring to me. You naturally start picking up new ideas and techniques just by being around others. And the best part? The vibe is super open. People genuinely love to share their tips and help each other grow.

Thanks for joining Francine! If there’s anything else you’d like to share with our readers, drop it here! :)

JOIN THE COMMUNITY - it’s great ;).
